A"The journey of 1000 miles starts with a single step"
Andy Baker is an entrepreneur, behavior specialist, educator, speaker, author and podcast host but that's not always been the case....
If you could be a fly on the wall as Andy experienced bullying and rejection in his teenage years you would see a sensitive boy, who battled with his mental health and desperately seeked acceptance and validation. Falling into a bad group of friends just to feel accepted, Andy went down a negative path for a while. Until one good decision of saying "no" showed him the true colors of those supposed "Friends", leaving him isolated again and leaving school with no real qualifications.
During this time Andy was also the victim of a violent crime (being mugged at knife point at 16 years of age) however rather than traumatize him, this incident worked as a doorway to path of understanding psychology and his first personal development role model, author and former doorman Geoff Thompson.
After reading Geoff's works Andy started to take control of his life and through making better choices, a number of mentors came into Andy's life.

“Treat a man as he is, and he will remain as he is. Treat a man as he could be, and he will become what he should be.”
― Ralph Waldo Emerson

Many wonderful people have influenced Andy's life but the 4 main ones that knew he could be more are his Father Philip Baker, a martial artist named Peter May who saw his potential in fighting, a pub owner Simon Brooks who took a chance on him and a business manager Kathryn Cooper who thought he had some teaching and sales talent. They all helped him realize that if they could see his potential, maybe he actually had some.

Andy has now spent two decades studying psychology, and various psychotherapy models including Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Dialectic Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Solution-focused therapy, Transactional analysis, Motivational interviewing, NLP and more. He has also studied Applied Behavioural Analysis, Positive Behaviour Support, Trauma Recovery, Pace Model, Therapeutic parenting and ADHD coaching. He has achieved the rank of black belt in 4 different martial arts disciplines which adds to his unique perspective of life and emotional literacy. He has built 5 businesses, written a published book, created the Able to Care podcast and the AbleHub.UK and is on the board of directors for the Institute of Conflict Management. He has also faced his fears in areas such as public speaking, skydiving, stand-up comedy, and full contact fighting and has survived to help you overcome your demons, imposter syndrome and fears to make a real difference in your life.
